Hi!
I’m Naomi Shimada.
For much of my life, I've been a deep-feeling being.
Losing my father as a young child planted a sensitivity in me that over the years has become my point of orientation. Being sensitive to grief became a way of moving through the world, attuning me to the love and loss woven into every moment.
In a changing world, we are being asked to change. Much of the pain and anxiety we carry is the effort of trying to find our way inside that.
In the same way a plant doesn't need to be told how to grow, but does need the right conditions — light, space, enough water — I believe we already carry our own way forward. My work is about creating the conditions where that can unfold.
I'm a writer, coach, and relational practitioner. I work with people who feel and notice deeply, the ones who are often holding so much, for so long, that their own aliveness gets buried beneath it. I believe these are precisely the people the world needs to be more fully themselves: creatives, thinkers, leaders who are also human beings first. Not performing their purpose, but living from it.
Together, we explore how to stay in relationship with yourself in the midst of change — and how to live from that place with more honesty, choice, and aliveness.
I hold this work through a relational, body-based lens, shaped by my own lived experience and informed by values of care, equity, and attention to the wider systems we're all part of.
